It took almost 2 months for Ken Johnson (winner of the first Tobiano Golf & Fish Contest) to find a partner to golf with at Tobiano and we finally got out to the course on Sept 10.

KJ submitted a couple of posts to the 2010 BC Freshwater Journal prior to July 1st and won 18 holes for 2 at the fabulous Tobiano Golf Course, just 20 minutes out of Kamloops, BC Canada.

Ken invited his friend Ian Barnett and joined Mike Porco (Tobiano Director of Business Development - Golf Operations) and I (mrBFSH) for a pleasurable afternoon on the course. It was great having Mike along as he helped guide us around the course and out of the rough (we saw the rough a lot!) and sand traps.

We had a chance to talk golf as well as fishing with Ken and Ian. Mike was extremely hospitable, opting to play the easy tees with us. It was intimidating when he pulled out an iron to drive on the first hole, a par 5, and still birdie it.

 Great Day at Tobiano

I'd like to express my thanks to Mr. Mike Porco of Tobiano for sponsoring and hosting a great contest prize of 18 Holes for two at the Tobiano Resort. Also deserving a huge thanks is Bigfishsmallhook.com for setting up and coordinating the contest. Job well done, gents. Having both Mike and Mr. BFSH join my good friend Ian B. and myself proved to be an entertaining and delightful afternoon - including some unbelievable golf (not all the good variety either!). This is one fantastic course and everything from the course condition to the spectacular scenery around us was marveled at all game long and truly enjoyed. Thanks again gents and here's hoping a treat like this comes around my way one more time, sometime soon.

I was the lucky invitee to accompany Tobiano's Mike Porco, Big Fish Small Hook's Dave Ouellette and the contest winner Ken Johnson to partake in 18 holes of fabulous vistas and many many golf shots. We were treated royally by the folks at Tobiano on September 10th and a week later I went back for more. Thanks Mike for your helpful hints (I try and stand up a bit more and I didn't lose as many balls the next week!)your sense of humour and real generosity.Thanks to my good friend Ken for inviting me as his guest and thanks to my buddy of 29 years Dave for being a key part of this great day. I had a blast!
