Scuitto Lake Lunkers
by: mr BFSH

Good story Steve... I'm not sure that the big ones are as abundant as they were a few years ago but the fishing is still pretty good.

Interesting comment on the way the fish make the double strike... this is much like they strike at Traveler Sedges on the surface. First they swat it with their tail and then they come back for the Big Gulp.

I had a similar experience at Scuitto lake, only this was on a bomber chironomid... I saw a rise close to the weeds, cast the line that I had in my hands and sure enough, the fish hit once then twice. It was a magnificent fat fish... never had one that fat in my life... too deep for my fillet knife when I cleaned it and tried to skin it.
