We were at
Roche Lake resort in the first weekend of June. We have been going on our annual fishing trip on the first weekend in June for the last 13 years. This year was our first foray into Roche. We were "lured" in by the prospect of "they are hard to catch, but when you do, they are big"!
One of our crew, a criminal defense lawyer, fancies himself as a
"man's man fisherman". On day one of our trip, he had caught a nice 2 lb trout and thus deserved a little in the way of bragging rights. He of course attributed the catch to his "lucky" rod. Later in the day he went on to
lose his rod, when he was trolling a semi-sinking line and he "hooked the big one". Problem was he wasn't holding on to the rod. It went away with the apparent "big one".
After further investigation (not by the counselor) we discovered that where he apparently lost the rod, was extremely shallow and weed infested. Gone is the "lucky rod" and of course we'll let the jury decide as to the real cause of it's demise.
