Ducks Unlimited has partnered up with many different private and public organizations in the name of nature conservation and public awareness. The projects listed below are an example of the great co-operative programs that have been set aside for your wetland and wildlife viewing education and pleasure.
1. Creston Valley Wildlife Management Area
Located along Hwy 3 in the beautiful Creston Valley, this internationally recognized wetland area is the mecca for bird watchers, wildlife viewing, hikers, bikers and students from all over the world.
There are 4 main named areas comprising of one lake and 17 marsh segements in this high profile, environmentally sensitive area. 2. Vaseaux Lake - Wildlife Management Area
Vaseaux Lake is nestled between Okanagan Falls and Oliver, BC on Hwy 97 in the sunny South Okanagan. Vaseaux Wetlands, a Ducks Unlimited Canada special project, is located at the north end of the lake adjacent to the Okanagan River viaduct. 3. Elizabeth Lake - Urban Wetland
A perfect example of a thriving urban wetland, Elizabeth Lake is located at the west end of the City of Cranbrook on Highway 3(Crowsnest Highway). There is a substantial pull-off / parking area with an information centre. You can access the marsh by walking trail or best access is with a canoe.
This 249 acre marsh was enhanced and preserved for waterfowl and wildlife through the co-operation of the City of Cranbrook, the BC Ministry of Environment and Ducks Unlimited in 1972
