Campbell Lake - Kamloops Area Lakes

I must say, for the last couple of years I don't think that any lake in the Kamloops area could compete with Campbell Lake for numbers and some pretty good size too. I used to fish this lake years ago when the other launch was available but the fishing seems to be even better now.
I come all the way from Penticton to fish this lake with my good buddy Dave and I always seem to kick his ass. That always makes me happier.
Every time I go to Campbell Lake I've seen fishermen catching fish within 50 yards of the boat launch as they were letting there line out. It didn't matter whether they were using flies, spinning gear or trolling gear, there almost always seemed to be some action. Even well into the heat of the summer.
I usually cast a fly but occasionally I troll a fly, just for a change of pace. The lake isn't very deep.
There are a couple of things that turns people off. One is the wind, it can be pretty windy. The other is the algae bloom it. It gets worse as the heat builds up and can look pretty disgusting.
The forestry recreation site there is pretty good but the parking lot can get pretty crowded. I found it better if I took time off work an went during the week to avoid the crowds.
