I've been a lifetime sport fisherman but mainly sea (beach & Boat) and fly. I've been working in Trinidad for a couple of years and it's not a bad shout if you are a serious angler - some of the best fishing I've had out here has been off the beach - Crevally and Barracuda to 20lb & 40lb Black Tip sharks, Tarpon and Stingrays.
I have attached a few other Trinni Fish Pics... all these pics are shore caught fish.
Every time I go fishing in Trinidad I catch something different – last weekend we fished small live-baits for Kingfish and Spanish Mackerel in shallow water in the Gulf of Paria, we only caught one Kingfish and a couple of Stingrays, but caught a load of big Ramoras – all about 2 ft long – I didn’t realize you could catch Ramoras, they are bizarre looking things and I wish I had photographed one now. I would like to have caught whatever it was there were supposed to be sucking onto.
note: Jon is a friend of a friend who is from the UK but has made Trinidad his home for the past few years. An lifelong, avid fisherman Jon was kind enough to send some pics and a few words... thanks Jon... please send more when you get a chance.
